2005 Radio 1 Beatbox Champion 2007 Channel 4Talent Award Winner Not only is THePETEBOX one of the world's finest human beatboxers, he has spent the past year crafting a whole new approach to using his beatbox skills to create music. His live show is more that of a full bands and sees him creating fully crafted songs as well as demonstrating his world class beatbox skills. Creating each layer of his tracks live using a loop pedal THePETEBOX's shows lead the audience through a journey of real time music production which builds up and delivers a full frequency spectrum of sound, from deep bass, to high pitched trumpets, to multiple vocal harmonies - all made with his mouth! 2008 has seen THePETEBOX tour his cutting edge show around France, Norway, Czech Republic, UK and at some of the worlds biggest festivals such as Glastonbury, Creamfields, V Festival and Bestival. Yo! Last week i went and played at the 2009 Bahrain F1 Grad Prix! I went over with the legendary breakdance crew The Funkstylerz and a load of other awesome acts to provide the entertainment for the race goers. During my trip I beatboxed for Bernie Eccleston and Bahrain's Grand Prince, saw an aerial view of the track via bungee and saw the Ferrari team tuning up Massa's car in the pits! Thank heavens for Sole Heaven! Some of you that have been to my show's will realise, and I'm the first to admit it, that I haven't quite got my finger on the pulse when it comes to fashion, in particular in the footwear department. My shoes carry stories of tours, festivals and long roads beatboxed and this is reflected in their appearance. I've never really found the right shoe - i went through a stint of buying rolleskate shoes, figuring 'I need some shoes, you can get shoes with rollerskates in them... hell yeah!'. Unfortunately after about 4 pairs i realise that what you gained in rollerskates, you sacrificed in shoe quality and they all soon fell apart. Anyway, the good news is this: The wonderful Sole Heaven are now sponsors of myself! Sole Heaven provide some of the rarer breeds of the larger shoe makers, such as nike, adidas, puma etc and will be providing me with my footwear from now on! Awesome! Big Up to all who passed through the gates at Donny Car Show 08! THePETEBOX joined legendary bboy crew the Funkstylerz for two days of shows on the Monster stage. He also joined the incredible Terry Grant as part of Terry's high energy stunt driving show! Pete beatboxed for the crowd from inside Terry's TVR as Terry threw it around at high speeds pulling precision handbrake turns and doughnuts!! Awesome!!! THePETEBOX once again teamed up with the awesome Urban Freeflow crew at the 2008 Mayors Thames festival. The Barclaycard sponsored, purpose built structure was home to the guys for two day, over which over 30,000 people saw THePETEBOX perform under the gaze of the London Eye. The response was huge and there's now talks of taking the show on the road... watch this space... A huge thankyou for such positive feedback, to all who watched and all who have taken the time to show your appreciation of THePETEBOX's show. Until the next time... On 3rd September THePETEBOX was invited to perform at the first ever World Freerunning Championships held at the Roundhouse in Camden. Some of the world's finest freerunners busted their moves in front of a packed out Roundhouse crowd, all filmed for Sky Sports due to be aired on 22nd September so make sure you're tuned in! Set times for THePETEBOX at V-Festival 2008! THePETEBOX will be making an appearance at the almighty V Festival this year. The Strongbow Rooms: Fri 15th Stafford - 18.30 Wicked! Let's see if you guys can make it go off like the awesome Isle of White show! June 2008 THePETEBOX Confirmed as Headliner for Creamfields Central Europe! Head down to Breclav in Czech for one of the worlds biggest and best dance music festivals on 12 July. June 2008 Isle of White Festival 2008, Strongbow Rooms - SMASHER!!! I just wanna say a big BIG UP to all who were there for the Strongbow Rooms at IOW festival - it was absolutely awesome, thanks for making it such a memorable show! What an event - heavy DJ's rockin it up, sun, booze, partying like that's all that matters... Anyway, the opener to my festival season and much love to all those who were there to see it in with me. I'm pleased to announce that last night THePETEBOX smashed it at the Midland's championships, beating the hottest talent from as far an wide as London to take the title! A full house at the Rescue Rooms shouted their faces off as THePETEBOX hurled his battle routines at them, ducking the competitions insults and proving he was worthy of this year's title. December 2007 I've just put up a blog and some pics from my recent tour of Africa!I spent two awesome weeks touring from Johannesburg in South Africa, through Mozambique to finish at the Lake of Stars Festival in Malawi in October. I had the time of my life - here's a pic of some kids in Mozambique that we played a game of football with in 40degree heat! We met this kind of welcome everywhere we went, I can't enthuse about it enough, Africa is a beautiful place. There's loads of photos and a lodown on my myspace blog which you can check out here. THePETEBOX has just been announced a winner of this year's Channel 4Talent Awards!From over 750 entries THePETEBOX was chosen by a panel of judges including T4 editor Catherine Lovesey as one of this year's winners. “Outstanding skills – a barrage of sounds, beats and rhythms that I was instantly absorbed into. Competent, original and one to tip I think.” - Catherine Lovesey, Editor of T4. THePETEBOX headed to the awards ceremony and winners party in December to collect the award. He says 'I am surprised and happy to have won. It's a privilege to have been able to show the judges what I got, let alone be chosen as a winner. And the champagne was ace too!'
